I happened to be looking for a new litter of kittens to bring home when I came across this litter of four tiny black kittens on pet harbor. They had come into Prince George County Shelter as strays and looked super tiny, barely 6 weeks old. Black kittens are often overlooked at shelters, because people think they are bad luck and they don't always stand out next to more colorful cats. Four black kittens just didn't have much of a chance in a full shelter. So I called to get their information and arrange to pick them up. They would be my lucky charms. When I called, I found out that they also had the mom, a sweet, young tortie named Misty. LDCRF never leaves a momma behind, so arranged to I pick up this teenage mom and her four babies today as my newest feline fosters (we also foster dogs).
My terrier Mamah was super excited as we prepared the kitten room! She LOVES kitties and is always happy to meet her new feline foster friends!
They are a little skinny, but they are a terrific little family! They use their litter box, love toys and their scratcher posts, and never refuse tasty treats. They are settling in and fatting up while the kittens get old enough to go up for adoption. I cannot wait to get to know them all!
Here they are all exploring their kitten room, eating some yummy canned food, and hanging out with their temporary roomies - Robinson, Onyx, Egypt, Raphael, and Rupert - five other single kittens rescued today, who will also be up for adoption soon!
